About the Graduate Student Association
The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is a student-run not-for-profit organization whose membership consists of the graduate students of the University of Waterloo. The GSA actively promotes and represents graduate student interests to the university administration and various levels of government. Our lobbying efforts focus on issues such as student funding, working conditions, academic regulations, and university services.
The GSA also provides a number of services for Graduate students, including legal/tax aid, health and dental insurance, and social events. A list of upcoming social events is available on our website. The GSA also hosts events that are held on campus and off campus, and some events are family friendly bus trips.
The GSA offers financial support towards events organized by grad student organizations. The GSA is also a major partner in organizing the annual Graduate Student Research Conference.
The GSA also runs the Grad House, a members-only club featuring food and bar service. All graduate students who have not obtained a Grad House membership fee refund are members. The Grad House offers a tasty menu, as well as live music and other events.
